ANZEF’s Grant Round 2026 open!

Australian & New Zealand Eye Foundation’s (ANZEF’s) grant round 2026 is now open. ANZEF supports initiatives that advance eye health equity and expand access to high-quality ophthalmic care across Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand and priority countries throughout the Asia-Pacific region. 

 

Supported by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO), ANZEF’s selected projects will receive funding of up to AU$50,000 (about NZ$59,000).  

 

RANZCO members and associates and organisations and professionals working in eye health, global health and ophthalmic education can apply for a grant. ANZEF is calling for applications that support education, research and awareness/advocacy while demonstrating the potential for meaningful impact to address eye health inequities and improve access to eyecare for Australian, New Zealand or Asia-Pacific communities.  

 

Focus areas may include, but are not limited to:  Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander (First Nations), Māori and Pacific eye health; growing the First Nations, Māori and Pacific ophthalmology workforce; cultural safety in the delivery of eyecare; global eye health collaboration and development (eligible project countries for this year’s grant round are: Fiji, Indonesia, Tonga, Tuvalu, Kiribati, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Timor-Leste, Vanuatu, Samoa and Nauru); and rural and remote eye health.  

 

Applications close 8 April 2026. Successful applicants will be announced in September 2026.
