Plans are underway for the third Women in Vision (WIV) Aotearoa Conference, set to take place on Auckland’s Waiheke Island from 4–6 November, immediately ahead of the Auckland RANZCO Congress.

The theme is ‘Illuminating Change’, with organisers aiming to bring together women working across eyecare to reconnect, share experiences and discuss ways to strengthen leadership and representation in the sector.

“This is more than a conference; it’s a catalyst. Join us on the stunning shores of Waiheke Island to reconnect with your peers, re-envision your impact and drive the Illuminating Change our profession deserves,” said Dr Joevy Lim, one of the conference organisers.

“The event will build on the success of the 2025 Women in Vision gathering, which attracted more than 100 delegates and explored issues including gender bias, financial wellbeing and the role of allies and bystanders in addressing microaggressions within the profession,” she said.

November’s event will offer a mix of professional discussion and networking opportunities in a retreat-style setting to encourage reflection on personal and professional impact, while supporting collaboration across the profession.

Further details about speakers and the programme are expected to be announced later in the year.
